Apartments Ante

  We stayed at Apartments Ante in late May 2017. Arrangements in advance of our stay were made via email with the owner Marinko. All questions were answers promptly and professionally.... read more We arranged taxi transfers in advance with the accommodation. On arrival at the airport we were greeted promptly by Marinko's brother who drove us to the apartment. We were given handy tips on what to do see and do whilst en route. On arrival we were greeted by Marinko's Mum with a complimentary beer and homemade candied orange, which was a fantastic treat after a long day!
The apartment is in the Ploce area above the old town. The views from the balcony are absolutely stunning. The walk up the steps from ploce gate takes about 10-15 minutes. The walk up the hill is tiring with many steps (the same for all apartments in this area), but the view afforded from the balcony is well worth the walk. We had our 7 year old daughter with us so occasionally took a taxi from Ploce gate at a very reasonable 55kn (£6ish) if we were feeling lazy!
The apartment was clean and well furnished. The double bed was actually the size of our superking at home so we were very impressed. Towels, hairdryer etc are provided.There is also good free wifi Extra pillows and beach towels were also kindly provided on request. Our daughter had a sofa bed which she found to be very comfy. We had an issue with her bed on day one (caused entirely by us) which was rectified quickly and professionally by the family. Excellent customer service.
In all, this is a lovely family run establishment with exellent, clean facilities and customer service that is exemplary for an apartment in this price range. We loved our stay here.

Nothing was out of the question. But the spectacular view from our balcony was breathtaking, ok so there is stairs to climb but if you want the best view you need to aim high. Our cases were taken care of so we didn’t need to carry them up the stairs. If you can’t walk the stairs you can get an Uber which are plentiful. You can purchase the essentials from the shops at the end of the road, you know beer, wine, cheese, pastries. So please if you want the best you should book Ante.

  30 euro taxi was steep for us from the airport as it was just two of us, but had to do it as it is hard to find and it... read more was late. View was unbelievable from our balcony and we didn't go out on both nights. Facilities were good too. We had a booking cancelled by the property due to a card that was declined, which we thought was wrong to do but they were within their rights and had to contact the host directly and got a free upgrade in the end. Very nice owner and son and charming property, 10mins from the old city.

Many steps down to and up from the old town each day, but more than compensated for by that view which was our priority (and we got quite a bit fitter). Just a 5 minute walk down to the old town, and maybe 15 mins back. Great location for the cable car too.

Maria and her son Marinko were delightful (and discrete) hosts. (Tip: the candied fruits, olive oils and preserves Maria and her daughter make are delicious, and make wonderful gifts.)

Owners so kind and helpful, picked us up from the airport and took us back, check in was easy, he even came back with a cold beer,homemade lemonade and homemade sweets for us, he gave us his card incase there was anything we needed him for, would definitely recommend this apartment if staying in Dubrovnik, the steps are hard going so wouldn’t recommend for the elderly or anyone who has difficulty with mobility!
